More listings are giving Waconia buyers more room
The biggest shift right now is supply. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 97 homes for sale in 55387 during the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is up 40.6% from the same stretch a year before. More choices for buyers means sellers need to be priced right from day one.
Realtor.com reported that active listings topped 1.16 million homes nationally in September 2026. Waconia is moving in the same direction. More supply is good news for buyers. For sellers, it means more competition on every block.
Realtor.com also reported that 20.8% of listings nationally took a price cut in September 2026, the highest share since October 2022. That is the cost of starting too high in a market with more options.
Homes are still moving in Waconia
More supply has not stopped buyers. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 113 homes sold in 55387 in the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is up 22.8% from a year before. Pending sales rose 12.5% to 90 homes in the same period.
Prices dipped a little, but sellers are still getting close to asking
The Real Estate Data Aggregator put the median sale price in 55387 at $485,000 for the three months ending August 31, 2026. That is down 1.5% from a year before. A small dip, not a drop. Sellers were still getting 99.2% of their list price on average, up 0.1 points from last year.
The Federal Housing Finance Agency reported that U.S. house prices rose 2.6% from July 2025 to July 2026. Waconia's small price dip of 1.5% is worth watching, but the overall sales pace here stays solid.
Speed: still quick, and getting a little quicker

Rates are a real factor right now
Realtor.com reported that mortgage rates climbed above 7% for the first time since January 2025. CNBC reported that a monthly payment on a median-priced home took up roughly 33% of a median family's income in 2025, up from 26% in 2022. That matters for how many buyers can step up in any market, including Waconia.
